About

Little Makers Charity Build transforms your group into a small toy workshop with a generous purpose. Each team receives a mixed box of wooden parts and a set of 3D plans for several toy designs, and has to work out how to turn them into sturdy, well-finished toys for children.

The first job is planning. Teams sort the components, agree how work will flow from one station to the next, give every person a clear role and set up their own production line. No toy leaves the line until it has passed a quality check, after which it moves on to painting and decoration.

In the second half, teams invent simple educational games that make the most of the toys they have made, then demonstrate them to everyone in a relaxed finale.

Every toy and game is donated to a local children’s charity, school or care home, so the afternoon leaves something lasting in the city where your event takes place.

Learning outcomes

Little Makers Charity Build gives multinational teams a shared, practical task in which every pair of hands is needed. Setting up a production line from scratch shows quickly how good planning and clear roles keep work moving.

The quality check adds a useful discipline. Teams learn that speed means little if the finished product falls short, and they begin to look out for each other's work rather than only their own.

Designing games for the toys switches the mood from production to imagination, giving quieter colleagues a chance to lead with ideas.

Knowing that the toys will end up with real children gives the session a warmth that few activities match. Participants leave proud of what they have made together and with a strong sense that their company cares about the communities it visits.
