Cobot Coding Challenge
Build a cobot, code its moves and chase the technology prize.

About
In Cobot Coding Challenge, teams become research scientists tasked with building and programming a robot that will set a new standard for cobots: collaborative robots designed to work safely alongside people.
Teams compete with their eyes on a prestigious technology prize, making the activity a natural fit for innovation summits and technology-focused offsites.
First, teams build their robots and connect them via Bluetooth. Each team then chooses from a range of robotic actions, picking one it can achieve in the time available. Clear step-by-step 3D instructions in the team kit app guide every stage.
A simple block-based coding menu brings each creation to life, with no coding experience needed. The grand finale is a high-energy competitive showdown that makes for an entertaining spectacle for the whole group.
Learning outcomes
Building a robot is an engaging and rewarding learning process, and team members enjoy working together in a creative, hands-on way.
Deciding which tasks the robot will perform calls for collaborative decision-making and clear communication. Choosing a goal that is achievable within the time limit is a valuable lesson in itself.
Running several tasks at once, such as building a precise test track while programming specific moves, requires effective delegation and resource management.
Teams learn that focus and attention to detail matter at every step, while keeping sight of the overall goal and avoiding silo thinking.
Watching a robot they built and coded perform in the finale gives everyone a real sense of pride and fresh confidence with technology.
Facilitators support every team, so even complete beginners finish with a working robot.
