About

Golf has long been a favourite sport for business networking, on the fairway and in the meeting room alike. Mini Golf Makers turns it into a fun, engaging miniature version that lets everyone take part in a meaningful way.

Teams design and build a challenging mini golf course, which they then play in a competitive and light-hearted tournament.

Courses are built from the materials provided, mainly canned and dry food items. The challenge is that every hole must be fun, challenging and conceptually different from the rest. Each team also designs and builds its own putter, which it uses in the final tournament as players tackle each hole and keep score.

After the event, all the food is donated to a local food bank or charity of your choice. Participants can bring food along for the donation, or goods can be provided to match your giving budget.

Learning outcomes

Mini Golf Makers combines creativity, competition and giving back in one memorable activity.

Designing holes that are both fun and different from the others encourages teams to brainstorm, test ideas and build on each other's suggestions.

Building with food items requires careful planning and resourcefulness, as teams make the most of the materials available.

The tournament brings teams together in friendly competition and gives everyone a chance to play on each other's creations, sparking conversation and laughter.

Donating the food to a local charity gives the activity a meaningful purpose. Participants leave with a sense of pride, knowing that their fun has also helped people in the community where the event takes place.

Facilitators help teams test each hole before the tournament, so the course is fun to play and every team is proud to show off its creative ideas to colleagues.
