About

Frame by Frame Movie Makers is a creative team challenge built around stop-motion animation, the much-loved technique behind many classic European children’s films. Objects are moved in tiny steps between photographs so that, when the frames are played in sequence, they seem to move on their own.

Each team creates an original stop-motion sequence based on a theme. Themes can be tailored to your team, a project or your business, so the finished films can carry a real message, launch a product idea or celebrate company goals.

Teams begin by storyboarding the result they want. Then, in their own animation studio, they arrange characters and objects and capture them through a long series of small, careful moves.

When filming is complete, teams play back their videos and watch their stories come to life, with results that are often impressive and almost always hilarious.

Learning outcomes

Stop-motion rewards patience and planning. Teams quickly learn that a clear storyboard saves hours of reshooting, and that time spent preparing pays off later.

Every film depends on many people doing small tasks well: moving objects, checking positions, operating the camera and keeping track of the story. That makes it a natural exercise in coordination and shared responsibility.

Reviewing and improving each sequence as it is filmed builds a continuous improvement mindset that translates directly to the workplace.

The premiere brings everyone together to celebrate a wide variety of ideas and styles. It shows how differently colleagues interpret the same theme, and how much richer the results are when diverse perspectives are welcomed. Teams often keep their films to share with the wider company.
