About

In Classic Cinema Remake, teams produce their own short versions of a classic movie.

Each team has an impressive range of props and costumes to help bring its film to life. Teams are given a movie, then write the script, cast the roles, plan the shots and rehearse their 15-minute version of the classic. Costumes and props spark ideas immediately, and teams quickly discover their natural directors, writers and stars.

Then the cameras roll. Teams get to work producing and filming, often reshooting scenes until they are just right.

In as little as three hours, every team has its movie ready. After the premieres are screened, a star-studded awards ceremony celebrates the best performances and productions, with plenty of laughter along the way. It is a perfect evening activity for a European incentive trip or a creative afternoon at a conference.

Learning outcomes

Classic Cinema Remake is a creative project with a firm deadline, giving teams a fun way to practise planning and delegation.

Writing, casting, directing and filming all happen within a few hours, so teams must agree roles quickly and trust each person to deliver their part.

Creative compromise is essential. Teams learn to combine ideas, give feedback kindly and make decisions together.

Performing in front of the camera builds confidence and reveals hidden talents across the group, often from unexpected people.

The premiere and awards ceremony create a joyful shared experience. Teams leave with a film they will want to watch again, and a stronger bond built through laughter and creativity.

Facilitators provide filming and editing support throughout, so every team finishes with a film it is proud of, whatever its experience behind the camera.
