Samba Rhythm Circle
One beat, one band: drum together and feel the room come alive.

About
Samba Rhythm Circle is one of the most exhilarating team activities you can bring to a European conference or summer party. Using the infectious rhythms of samba, it turns any group into one giant band, where every person plays their own part at the right moment and on cue.
It begins in small groups led by professional musicians, who teach the basics of samba beats and breaks. After a few rhythm warm-ups, groups move quickly on to real percussion instruments, each learning a different instrument and rhythm.
As confidence grows and the playing tightens, the groups come together to prepare a spectacular, thundering grand finale.
Everyone takes part. Even the shyest people are soon grinning as they stamp, clap, sway and drum alongside their colleagues, and the room discovers what a team can achieve when it moves to the same beat. It works equally well in a ballroom, a marquee or a garden terrace.
Learning outcomes
Samba Rhythm Circle is a vivid demonstration of how individual contributions combine into something far bigger. Each group plays a different part, and the music only works when everyone listens and stays in time.
Following cues from the lead musician mirrors good leadership and followership in the workplace. Participants practise paying attention, responding quickly and trusting the people around them.
Drumming together releases energy and stress, creating a sense of connection that breaks down barriers between departments, levels and nationalities. Language barriers matter little when everyone shares the same rhythm.
The grand finale leaves the group buzzing. It is a memorable shared achievement that people talk about long after the event, and a reminder of what is possible when a team moves as one.

Frequently asked questions
How many participants can take part?
From 10 to 500, all playing together as one group.
How long does it last?
Around 1.5 hours, including the briefing and wrap-up.
Do we need musical experience?
No. Everything is taught from the very first beat by professional musicians.
Can it run indoors or outdoors?
Either. We can run it indoors, outdoors or a mix of both, depending on the venue and the season.
Is it loud?
Yes, wonderfully so. We advise on venues where a full samba band will not disturb neighbouring events.
